Visionary Mind ShiftsTM
(previously Power To Stand: A Course In Greatness)
Written by Michael Skye for the Vision Force Academy

Warning:  Each Visionary Mind Shift may be easy enough to grasp at a glance, yet each is a puzzle piece in a larger puzzle called the Vision Force Matrix.  The more you integrate this shift with the other shifts, the more the matrix will begin to emerge.  Your understanding of the distinctions and the matrix itself will evolve as you move through the course.  To speed that evolution, do your best to view each word and distinction as something new, a mystery, rather than by relating it to what you already know.

Visionary Distinction:

Intellectual Value System | Operational Value System

Introduction:

The new revolutionaries, powerful everyday people who know how to live from a stand and do so, don't try harder, work faster or think smarter.  They simply have and live from a different operational value system than the rest of us.  The new revolutionaries are visionaries.  This course is introducing you to the fundamentals of being a new revolutionary.

Orientation
:

Intellectual Value System - The value hierarchy that we like to believe or say is ours.

Operational Value System - The value hierarchy that is actually ours.

Positionary Value System vs. Visionary Value System

Example:

Mary is a successful executive who believes that her highest values are, in order of importance, 1) spirituality, 2) health and 3) family.  She has taken courses to identify her values and organize them in a way that make her feel good.

When times are easy or when Mary is having a good day, she does honor her values.  At other times, Mary simply does not feel like engaging in her spiritual or health practices.  It turns out, that there is a value she holds higher than spirituality, health and family.  Comfort.  She honors these values when it is comfortable, she doesn't when it is not.  Thus, in reality, comfort is higher on her values hierarchy.

Mary thinks she has a very good relationship with her parents.  However, when Mary speaks with her parents, she is sure not to broach certain subjects.  She avoids having the tough conversations that could bring her parents into a closer relationship with her.  She keeps her relationship with her parents comfortable.

Mary's parents disagree with her spiritual life, and when her parents tell Mary what to do or how to run her life, she becomes frustrated.  She reacts emotionally and attempts to tell her parents to mind their own business.  Along with comfort, Mary also values how her parents see her.

Upon closer scrutiny, Mary might also find that how others see her also trumps the 3 values she identified as her highest values.

A Key Point:

Whether you've identified your values or not, do you know what your operational value system is?  We'll say more about this at a later date.  For now it's enough to see to what extent values are, for most of us, a very superficial notion.

Visionary Advantage:

You can try as hard as you like to achieve your values or your vision in the world.  Yet, if your Operational Value System is not at all in line with your stated values and vision, good luck.

A visionary is one who sees the kind of vision that consistently calls one's self and others to greatness.  This requires a different kind of Operational Value System than most of us now have.  Some visionaries are "born" in that they do not allow environmental conditioning to mess with their natural Operational Value System.  Other visionaries are "made" in that they do the work required to reverse the environmental conditioning that stripped them of their natural visionary value system.

Visionary Challenge:

Identify what you'd like to think your values are.  This is your intellectual value system.  It's practically meaningless.  What do your actions say about your highest values?  What do you hold as more important than your intellectual values--in reality?  And what do you hold as less important?

(This is one of the distinctions that you can only see on a very surface level until later in the program.  There is a whole lot more to say about your Operational Value System.)

Meet other visionaries and discuss how to integrate this distinction into your life on the Vision Force Forum Boards.

Intensive Visionary Training:

Could it be that your Operational Value System is--in reality--completely backwards from what it needs to be to live powerfully as a visionary in this world?  Could it be that your natural value system is that of a visionary's?  Could it be that years of conditioning in a world that wants your values to match their values has disconnected you from your values and a powerful vision?  And is it possible to in just 3 days go a long way towards reversing that unnatural value system?

After 3 days inside the event below, your answer to all the above questions would be a resounding, reverent and gasping Yes!
